Representative of SOS Children’s Villages Armenia Charitable Foundation
Anahit Melkumyan began her career in 2009 at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia, working in the Department of Child Affairs within the Family and Women’s Issues Division. During her tenure, she contributed to the development of several legal acts, the coordination of orphanages and former boarding institutions, and the centralized registration process for children deprived of parental care. She has been actively involved in major child protection reforms, particularly in the development and implementation of foster care services in Armenia.
In 2018, Anahit joined SOS Children’s Villages Armenia as an Advocacy Advisor, where she continues to promote policies and practices that strengthen family-based care and protect children’s rights.
As a Member of the Board of the Child Protection Network (CPN), she is committed to participating in advocacy initiatives and contributing to ongoing child protection reforms, bringing her valuable expertise and experience from both government and civil society sectors.
