The Child Protection Network team visited one of our founding members, the Armenian Association of Social Workers (AASW).

The meeting was a good opportunity to get to know the Association’s core team more closely, as well as its current programmes, its work in the regions and its initiatives to develop social services.

For many years AASW has played an important role in developing social work and social services in Armenia, while also being actively involved in advocacy, promoting sector reforms, designing new programmes and introducing innovative methodologies.

During the meeting we also discussed the Association’s work in the regions. AASW currently works in several regions of Armenia under various programmes, providing social, psychological and socio-economic support to vulnerable and displaced people, and carrying out work on community inclusion and social activation.

Meetings like this are important not only for getting to know each other’s work better, but also for discussing shared problems, gaps in the sector and new opportunities for cooperation.

Achieving lasting change in child protection requires a strong professional community, effective cooperation and a shared agenda.

We thank the team of the Armenian Association of Social Workers for their warm welcome and the open, meaningful discussion.
